IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations - 2005 Edition

We are pleased to advise that the new edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) - 46th edition, effective January 2005, will be available from Late November and will replace the current Edition 45 that you are now using.

The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) contains the provisions mandated by ICAO and all rules universally agreed by airlines to correctly package and safely transport dangerous goods by air. Also included is a list of UN Specification package suppliers to assist shippers locate required packaging. Designed as the essential guide to assist Exporters, Forwarders, Airlines and Manufacturers, the IATA DGR is also a valuable business information product that increases safety and reduces the risk of expensive and dangerous mistakes.

Some of the improvements in the new edition are:

  • A completely revised list of dangerous goods that reflects the latest changes from ICAO, approximately 60 new entries with modifications to another 40 current entries.
  • New Training requirements, including responsibilities with regards to dangerous goods security.
  • Enhanced Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods that incorporates the new sequence of information as well as the new air-mode certification statement.
  • Revised classification criteria for infectious substances and diagnostic specimens.

The price for the new standard edition of the DGR will be A$250.00 (incl GST), which is inclusive of handling and standard delivery charges.  This price also includes the supply of any supplements that may be issued.
