Australian airExpress cargo terminals have advised AFIF of their new cargo terminal fees to become effective throughout Australia on January 01st , 2011.
Most notable in the changes is the introduction of a reduced fee both for import and export where e-freight is used for the shipment process. We wish to congratulate AaE on this forward thinking initiative.
At AFIF we have been continually calling upon airlines and cargo terminals to consider some form of incentive to increase e-freight volumes and this is definitely a step in the right direction. AFIF will continue to work on increasing e-freight take up in Australia and through its contacts on the Asia Pacific and global stage.
Please find attached a letter from AaE CTO to AFIF outlining the changes and whilst there are some inevitable increases since the last fee review in 2007, we encourage members to implement the use of the e-air waybill and as many forms of electronic documentation as possible.
