Port Botany Early Arrival Truck Queuing System

Sydney Ports Corporation has written to AFIF to notify us of the provision of an early arrival truck queue at Port Botany to assist in the management of truck movements into the Patrick Terminal Port Botany.

Sydney Ports has acknowledged that early arrival trucks queuing to enter the Patrick terminal on Penrhyn Road and Botany Road is causing ongoing concern for industry stakeholders and the local community, while reducing the efficiency of landside movements around the port precinct.

This initiative has arisen out of the Port Botany Landside Improvement Strategy (PBLIS), to which AFIF has actively participated in and contributed to. Sydney Ports has responded by making available a temporary truck early arrival queuing area on Simblist Road, exclusively for the use of trucks which have arrived early, waiting to enter the Patrick terminal.

The queue will be located on the ocean side of Simblist Road and will be in effect as of Monday 6th July 2009. Please click here to view map.

We thank Sydney Ports for their support of our industry in implementing this initiative to help relieve congestion and illegal truck parking on Penrhyn Road and Botany Road, Port Botany.

Please advise all concerned.

Thanks and regards
