1-Stop Delivery Order System

Dear Firstname,

As you would be aware from notices issued by both 1-Stop and notifications from industry bodies, a new electronic delivery order system to be introduced by the shipping lines through '1-Stop' was due to commence today.

AFIF and other industry bodies have identified some issues particularly in regard to potential for wrongful delivery of containers and will be meeting with relevant parties to develop solutions to overcome potential problems.

As it stands, participating shipping lines will be able to issue an electronic pin number to release containers against one single Ocean Bill. However, as you would be aware, on many occasions an ocean bill may cover a number of containers and this pin number will cover all containers under the same ocean bill.

We aim to gain agreement on the process whereby a separate pin number can be issued for each container either by the shipping line or by an intermediate system. We are also going to investigate the possibility for individual forwarders to issue their own pin numbers subsequent to the master pin and also other IT solutions to overcome this potential problem.

We will keep you informed of developments as soon as possible.

Thank you and kind regards

Brian Lovell
